I was looking through some old pictures today and found this one. I took this over 3 years ago when I went on my first mission trip in Kentucky. I call it my first real picture because I consider that trip such a big eye opener. It showed me the real value of life, therefore I consider it as the time my life really began. Hence why it is my first real picture. And the two hats look pretty rad!
This is my favorite image of all time. It is of Russian soldiers praying before a battle. I really like this picture because of the shallow depth of field and its general composition. Having something to believe in is the greatest feeling I know. Especially, because I carry a cross in my pocket too. Manual SLR's are the only camera I shoot with. They have yet to fail me. Especially the Pentax ones. I tried a week shooting with a digital film camera and it just was not the same. I am looking to purchase one of these cameras. I like the feeling of having complete control of everything. I really like the feel and weight of these cameras. I haven't had a bad experience with these and I'm not planning on it. Shallow Depth of Field is when the most forward objects in the picture are in focus. This is the style of shooting that I prefer the most. It creates a lot of interest for the viewer. I feel as if I am in control of what I want the audience to focus on. For example, in the picture of the lamp posts, the first one is what I am pushing the audience to look at.
